In every temple Gopuram we have ‘Kalasam’ which is believed to act as a signal receiver and giver between God’s abode and mankind. In concept, the crest of the Gopuram has the same significance of representing the central Brahmasthan which is the energy field of any building. The kalasams on top of gopurams are designed specifically to absorb maximum amount of cosmic/spiritual energy from the space. Once spiritual energy enters the temple complex, it is absorbed by the devotees visiting the temple. Interestingly same technique was used in the famous pyramids of Egypt .In the ancient days, kings use ‘Magudam’ in their head which also looks like Gopura Kalasam.
